Key Responsibilities

The Lead Data Architect Azure will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing key client relationships
  • Managing partnerships with Microsoft
  • Leading the Azure Center of Excellence
  • Directing Data & Analytics projects on Azure
  • Assisting in recruitment efforts
  • Enhancing our value proposition
  • Developing skills and capabilities in:
    • Designing data platforms utilizing Azure DATA & AI services, including Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake Gen2, Stream Analytics, and Purview.
    • Architecting operational frameworks and conducting performance engineering for large-scale data lakes in production settings.
    • Implementing the Microsoft Well Architected Framework (WAF) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) in solution design and execution.
    • Creating and maintaining efficient data pipeline architectures through Azure-native services or data management technologies.
    • Participating in client design workshops, providing insights and recommendations for solution development.
    • Mentoring engineering teams on coding best practices and problem-solving techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, preferably within consulting environments.
  • A minimum of 5 years leading teams of BI/data analysts at senior levels.
  • Proficient in Azure cloud-native environments.
  • Knowledge of Big Data architectures, both cloud-based and on-premise.
  • Experience with Azure infrastructure and networking.
  • Familiarity with Azure Load & Ingest services such as Event Hub, Data Factory, and Databricks.
  • Expertise in Azure Storage services, including Data Lake Gen1 and Gen2.
  • Experience with Azure Process & Serve services like Synapse and Stream Analytics.
  • Proven ability to develop proofs-of-concept to meet specific business requirements using appropriate techniques and technologies.
  • Experience in migrating workloads from on-premise to cloud environments.
  • Skilled in monitoring distributed infrastructures using Azure tools or open-source alternatives.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Kanban.
  • Strong capabilities in data manipulation and BI tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging with senior management to drive projects.
  • Proactive in initiative-taking, with exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong presence to manage cross-functional teams.
