About the Role
The Security Technical Architect will play a crucial part in designing and implementing robust security architectures for our systems, applications, and infrastructure. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that technology solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive security architectures for our systems, applications, and infrastructure, considering both current and future needs.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders, including developers, engineers, and project managers, to integrate security requirements into the system design and development lifecycle.
- Evaluate and select security technologies, tools, and frameworks to support our security architecture.
- Ensure technical solutions meet the client's objectives and comply with industry regulations and best practices.
- Lead incident response activities, including identification, containment, eradication, and recovery, in coordination with the incident response team.
- Develop or produce technical design documents to match solution design specifications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine scope of work, product pricing, and RFP/RFI responses.
- Assist with determining outsourcing, product pricing, and implementation solutions.
- Manage client proof of concept (POC) initiatives, involving relevant resources and setup and delivery of the POC.
- Own the proposed solution and transition the build/implementation to the delivery team on assigned engagements.
- Prepare executive summaries outlining client needs, proposed technology solutions, and statements of work.
- Document proposed technology solutions, statements of work, and labour requirements.
- Prepare pricing formats for customers and perform solution design, preparing parts lists outlining equipment to be provided.
- Develop and manage POCs as required, engaging technical resources for accurate solution design.
- Prepare network diagrams outlining proposed solutions and document deliverables and successful completion criteria.
- Review final parts lists and submit information to the applicable bid team for final assembly.
- Verify proposal accuracy and sign off on final documents to be presented to the client.
- Assist during final presentations to the client as appropriate.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong client engagement skills.
- Understand the vendor's products, business, and technology positioning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, analyze complex security issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Technical consulting aptitude.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, contributing to their success.
- Broad product knowledge integrated with technology understanding.
- Strong knowledge of security domains, including network security, application security, cloud security, data protection, identity and access management, cryptography, and secure coding practices.
- Proficiency in enterprise architecture principles, frameworks (such as TOGAF), and architectural patterns for designing secure and scalable systems.
- In-depth understanding of security regulations, standards, and frameworks (such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS) and their practical application.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (Computer Science, Information Technology, etc).
- Vendor product, sales, and technology certifications.
- Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or TOGAF, are highly desirable.
- Seasoned professional technical experience within a large-scale technology services environment.
- Seasoned experience as a Security Technical Architect or a similar role, designing and implementing security architectures for complex systems and applications.
- Seasoned experience in a professional technical role.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and secure coding analysis tools.
- Experience in project management methodologies.
