Role Responsibilities: The ATC System Design Engineer for signaling systems will be responsible for:
- Assessing and interpreting input documentation and customer specifications;
- Evaluating and analyzing both contractual and technical system requirements;
- Defining the functionalities, architecture, and interfaces of the signaling system, adhering to transportation standards across Italy and Europe;
- Designing the system and its configurations while producing the necessary documentation;
- Collaborating with customers and other stakeholders;
- Participating in meetings with various Alstom teams in Italy and globally;
- Implementing processes, methodologies, and tools in line with Alstom standards;
- Assisting in the deployment of system Generic Applications versus Specific Application project teams responsible for project execution;
- Conducting design testing of the system until it is handed over to the Verification and Validation team;
- Supporting laboratory testing and on-site activities;
- Contributing to the enhancement of sustainable and innovative transportation standards for the future.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in telecommunications, electronics, or mobility; a Master's degree is advantageous;
- Recent graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience;
- Goal-oriented with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills;
- Adaptability and troubleshooting capabilities;
- Fundamental knowledge of networks and communication protocols;
- Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level);
- A willingness to engage in continuous learning and enhance technical and interpersonal skills in a dynamic environment;
- Previous experience in the railway or metro signaling sector, or in a complex regulatory environment (railway, aerospace, defense, etc.) is a significant advantage.
