Position Overview

As a pivotal figure in our engineering team, you will serve as the design authority for an engineering discipline characterized by medium to high complexity. Your role will involve executing project assignments efficiently, adhering to contract specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, select, and implement standard methodologies and procedures to execute engineering tasks;
  • Offer technical assistance for testing, installation, and commissioning design, as well as site surveys and procurement activities;
  • Oversee project documentation related to your deliverables; assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for engineering projects (including bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, deliverables lists, and vendor specifications);
  • Support Contract Managers in managing claims (including changes in scope, cost implications, time impacts, and risk assessments);
  • Deliver quality solutions aligned with customer requirements while ensuring adherence to budget and contract stipulations;
  • Uphold safety standards and mitigate potential risks;
  • Develop work plans and cost estimates within your area of responsibility, ensuring timely and quality deliverables within budget constraints; collaborate with other functions to enhance work plan effectiveness;
  • Conduct risk and opportunity assessments, ensuring the implementation of resulting actions within your domain;
  • Report any issues related to contracts, quality, programs, or costs to management, along with recommendations for resolution;
  • Assist clients with technical inquiries, engaging with official contacts, contractors, and other personnel within your scope of deliverables; facilitate communication regarding specific assignments or meetings;
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure technical requirements for equipment or services are clearly communicated and agreed upon with potential suppliers; evaluate supplier proposals for fitness for purpose;
  • Assist the Tender Team and Managers in reviewing customer requests, issuing deliverables lists, validating project timelines, consolidating material requests and BoM, and confirming cost and time impacts;
  • Utilize standard processes and tools relevant to your area of responsibility; ensure compliance of engineering activities with safety regulations and contractual obligations;
  • Identify inefficiencies in processes and tools, suggesting improvement ideas; assign tasks and coordinate work with junior engineers, technicians, and administrative staff;
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the project, demonstrating proactivity in technical discussions, suggestions, and problem mitigation; lead the relevant team on technical aspects of activities;
  • Embody core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering;
  • Fluency in English and Italian, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and a proven track record in project and personnel coordination;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering projects related to high voltage substations or power plants within the EPC sector;
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, Autodesk, and BIM software); exceptional organizational skills; a sense of responsibility and reliability;
  • Effective communication skills and clear thinking;
  • Adept at prioritizing tasks and communicating effectively with various stakeholders throughout all project phases;
  • Proficient in planning and deliverables management, with strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
