About the Role

Serco, a leading Space Services Provider, is seeking an experienced Validation Engineer to join our international team in Rome. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the integration and verification of new evolutions of data processing software for the BIOMASS satellite mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze software technical notes and requirements.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and traceability to test cases and procedures.
  • Prepare and review test documentation.
  • Coordinate unit testing activities and related documentation.
  • Accept and evaluate software components.
  • Execute and analyze tests.
  • Analyze software issues in collaboration with the Development team.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree (or similar) and at least 3 years' experience in system integration, validation, and verification.
  • Software engineering experience.
  • Good experience with Linux, Unix, and shell scripting.
  • Good experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with issue tracking systems and code version control systems.
  • Knowledge of the ECSS standard.
  • Experience in defining and maintaining user requirements for ESA's PDGS is an asset.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high degree of organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
