Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND proven industry experience in a data center or other critical environment facility.

Background Check Requirements:

Candidates must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position requires passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not mandatory, we also value the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling).
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or services.
  • Experience managing large-scale CE projects.
  • Familiarity with the operation of IT infrastructure (Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.).

Responsibilities

As a successful CO+I Critical Environment Program Manager, your performance will be evaluated based on:

Data Center Operations

  • Ensuring compliance with data center business units and service-level policies.
  • Collaborating with relevant teams and resources to execute tasks or projects.
  • Managing programs related to your area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrating conscientiousness regarding costs, adhering to budget requirements, and contributing to maintaining budgetary limits.
  • Following and adhering to safety and security policies and procedures, promptly reporting any safety or security issues or concerns.
  • Participating in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process as appropriate.

Service Delivery

  • Maximizing Critical Environment (CE) availability in collaboration with our landlord partners at our leased data centers to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in our leased data centers (MOP/SOP/EOP review, RCAs, FMEAs, change governance, and risk mitigation).
  • Reducing high-impact and human-error Critical Environment (CE) incidents year over year.
  • Delivering on cost/energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Supporting the implementation of the data center's Emergency Preparedness and Response plans and acting as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within our leased data centers.
  • Coordinating, planning, scheduling, and supervising CE audits and compliance verification as needed.
  • Ensuring routine reporting to effectively manage and analyze our Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity, and SLA monitoring.
  • Establishing and enhancing strong working relationships and engagement with our Engineering Groups (EGs) and Landlord partners (including contributing to MBRs, QBRs).
  • Collaborating with regional and global peers to share and develop best practices across the entire data center portfolio.

Data Center Work Environment

  • Sharing best practices and assisting others in learning roles, processes, and procedures.
  • Providing mentorship across data centers for specific expertise.
  • Seeking training opportunities that align with business interests as well as personal career goals and objectives.
  • Suggesting methods for reducing risks associated with maintenance; collaborating with others to accommodate scheduling needs.
  • Proposing improvements in implementation based on a comprehensive understanding.
  • Contributing to a positive team environment by learning and adopting best practices.
  • Actively participating in team meetings and cross-disciplinary collaborations within the service team.

Ownership

  • In alignment with management priorities, holding oneself accountable for the end-to-end service quality, completeness, and resulting customer experience (including but not limited to availability, safety, security, and customer service).
  • Supporting the escalation of issues to the appropriate owner.
