Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Installation Supervisor to join our team at TEICON ENGINEERING. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the interface and focal point between the local construction team and the engineering back office for all instrumentation engineering issues.
  • Clarify queries with the engineering back office in Dresden and participate in yard construction team meetings and regular status meetings.
  • Support the yard by troubleshooting, making small red markings in existing documentation, or preparing new drawings (hook ups) as part of prefabrication for solving issues.
  • Supervise and conduct conformation checks of the installation works, track progress, give instructions for installation and mechanical completion (MC), and ensure quality and cleanliness during construction progress.
  • Oversee the installation of local control stations, Remote I/O's, and field instruments.
  • Manage the installation of cable trays and secondary cable ways via wire mesh or conduits.
  • Install LV power and signal cables and their connections.
  • Install small steel structures, unistrut, and brackets.
  • Lay and connect potential equalization cables.
  • Ensure the proper installation of the grounding system.
  • Report deficiencies regarding the quality of work and organize and address improvement measures.
  • Support the clearance of construction punch items.
  • Coordinate the yard construction team, including the local construction partner.
  • Supervise the construction partner's generated quality documents, such as cable continuity checks and tubing tests.
  • Support red-marking and as-built documentation.
  • Support the documentation and reporting of activities in the completion management system to achieve MC for module-related scopes.
Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning
  • Act as the interface and focal point for the Equipment Responsible Engineer (EQR).
  • Participate in and contribute to team meetings to facilitate communication with the back office in Dresden.
  • Conduct loop checks and verify records of signals from field devices to remote I/O boxes using the test system (Siemens S7 - TIA based) via costumers construction management system CMS.
  • Check records to prove mechanical completion at the yard via costumers construction management system CMS.
  • Support handover management activities.
  • Troubleshoot as needed.
  • Participate in hardware FAT (factory acceptance test) with the client.
  • Supervise and give instructions for the partial dismantling of small instrumentation scopes for the transport of modules to the site.
Requirements
  • Over 2 years of experience in planning and/or supervising instrumentation installation.
  • Over 2 years of pre-commissioning and commissioning experience with instrumentation systems.
  • Operation and parameterization skills for Siemens S7 - TIA based test systems, primarily for loop checks.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with LV electrical wiring and consumers, such as lighting fixtures.
  • Knowledge and experience with explosion hazards and protection measures, primarily Ex i.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice (MSACCESS, MSEXCEL, MSWORD, MSTEAMS).
  • Ability to derive information using a 3D model provided via Smart Plant Software.
  • Fluency in German and English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a hands-on mentality, a can-do and problem-solving attitude, self-reliance, self-motivation, and a commitment to project completion within time and budget.
