Role and Responsibilities

As a Flight Simulator Maintenance Specialist, the individual will assist in all operational activities of the training center to ensure a seamless, effective, and high-quality service at a state-of-the-art Training Center.

The specialist will also aim to fulfill CAE's objective of delivering exceptional flight simulator training center operations, in line with CAE's vision as a premier global training partner dedicated to enhancing safety, efficiency, and preparedness in all facets of training center operations.

General Overview:

Support all technical and operational aspects of the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices as applicable. Participate in flight crew and maintenance discussions, conduct daily readiness checks, assist with flyouts as necessary, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and execute Qualification Test Guides (QTGs). Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate training device issues and AOGs. Recognize recurring problems and work towards implementing permanent solutions. Seek and implement enhancements to procedures related to various training device maintenance tasks. Through coaching and mentoring, provide on-the-job technical training to fellow technicians, fostering the professional growth of all personnel. Collaborate with specialists on complex issues that necessitate extensive testing, troubleshooting, research, and design. Ensure, maintain, and support the FSTD operations Management System, including the implementation and adoption of processes and procedures as deemed necessary. Conduct regular minor updates of Nav DB, Terr DB, OIS & EFB Charts, Documents, and Performance Data, as well as IOS Lesson Plan uploads. Maintain, track, and request consumable items and tools required for PMTs and Daily Readiness. Assist with logistics duties, including annual inventories, reorganization of stores, packing, and preparation for shipping. Pursue knowledge and skills to strive to become a technical expert in one or more simulator systems (Visual, Motion, Flight Controls, etc.).

Support compliance and environmental activities in accordance with CAE Management System and Global Environmental policies.

Qualifications and Skill Set Requirements:

Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation Field with a minimum of 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience. Must possess the rights to work within the EU. Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Knowledge of the Italian language is preferable and beneficial for operational support. Highly customer-oriented, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients. Proficient working knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages, with the ability to make minor software modifications. Strong technical background (Hardware and Software) and familiarity with FSTD technical issues across all systems, specifically: motion, visual, avionics, dynamics of flight, aircraft systems, etc. Proficient knowledge of various aircraft types, including Commercial Jetliners (Airbus family). Solid understanding of aircraft and training device terminology. Good grasp of Commercial Aviation training. Effective knowledge of local & International (EASA, ENAC, etc.) regulations, with demonstrated experience, as they pertain to FSTDs. Proficient computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
