Job Overview

The primary objective of the Air Freight Operations Specialist is to efficiently manage daily tasks related to air freight services, ensuring adherence to UPS protocols while delivering exceptional customer support.

This role encompasses all responsibilities associated with the air freight division for outbound shipments.

Daily Responsibilities

- Liaise with air carriers and network offices to coordinate shipments
- Receive and transmit shipping directives
- Enter data into UPS systems in line with performance metrics and established procedures
- Engage with air carriers to secure freight bookings
- Initiate customs clearance processes
- Relay flight information to clients
- Oversee shipment schedules and track progress
- Generate cost accruals in the system and manage invoicing

- Investigate carrier failures and establish corrective measures to ensure successful delivery
- Complete claims as per company procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications

- University degree or High School diploma or equivalent experience

- Basic knowledge of freight forwarding, including IATA regulations, ENAC rules, and incoterms

- Proficient in English, both spoken and written
- Strong time management abilities

- Competent in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite

- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently

- Capable of performing under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Positive customer interaction skills
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork orientation
