Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the AI National Skills Initiative (AINSI) in a specific country. As the AI National Skills Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic partnerships with government, education, private sector, and civil society organizations to skill individuals and organizations at scale on generative AI.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy and Program Management
- Develop strategic goals for and execute the AI National Skills Initiative at the country level, selecting skilling and training program offerings from across the company to drive skilling at scale in partnership with external stakeholders and organizations.
- Formulate Microsoft's AI National Skills Initiative and advise on and respond to strategic issues on AI skilling.
- Recommend well-thought-out actions by prioritizing, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholder positions, leveraging specialists, or escalating matters.
- Shape Microsoft's policy agenda that addresses complex societal issues and business priorities with a focus on AI skilling.
- Develop and/or recommend highly impactful solutions for advancing Microsoft AI skilling agenda, while managing risks and consequences.
- Identify and gather resources across internal and external communities to ensure a positive impact of AINSI.
- Communicate Microsoft's perspective on key strategic AI skilling issues and garner the support of influential internal and external stakeholders to advance Microsoft's CSR agenda.
- Influence and contribute to the messaging and communications strategy as a spokesperson to ensure programs are integrated into internal and external stakeholder messaging.
- Understand and apply detailed knowledge of Microsoft and Corporate and Legal Affairs strategies to drive results and program integrity, especially as they relate to AI skilling.
- Identify and manage partnerships (e.g., nonprofit, international, advocacy, academic) to advance AI skilling programs.
- Implement improvements to corporate social responsibility (e.g., philanthropies, accessibility, sustainability) initiatives based on community and stakeholder feedback.
- Serve as a strategic partner for AI skilling by supporting business development opportunities and assisting in navigating, minimizing, or removing roadblocks in order to drive business results.
- Participate in and/or lead intra-group and/or cross-group projects and ensure accountability by leveraging project management approaches.
- Bachelor's Degree AND Extensive experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, Government, Non-government organizations AND technology companies doing related work.
- 12+ years experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropies, government, non-government or related area.
- 3+ years experience managing a corporate social responsibility or related program.
- 3+ years experience working in or with a large, matrixed organization.
- Deep field experience and understanding of factors that motivate and drive results within technical, sales, and marketing organizations, including quota carrying sales experience and/or channel or technical community development.
- Proven trusted advisor status in engagement and influence with senior leaders. Experience in change management and leading complex, organization-wide programs and projects.
- Excellent communications skills and executive presence; ability to represent Microsoft and be inspirational and influential in mobilizing customers, partners, communities, and our internal teams around a culture of learning.
- Proven cross-boundary collaboration capabilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability with an ability to manage through ambiguity and positively manage conflict to drive positive business results.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a remote team, driving successful outcomes with virtual teams.
- In-depth experience with industry, technical, and professional skills knowledge and sales capabilities. For internal applicants: Familiarity with Microsoft offerings (products and cloud services), processes, and tools preferred. Management experience required.
