Job Description

Thales Alenia Space is seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join our team. As an EMC Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility of our space systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Analyze applicable EMC requirements at the system level and derive lower-level requirements (unit and subsystem).
  • Define EMC activities to be applied to the project to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate the adequacy of proposed designs with respect to the project's EMC environment, both at unit and system levels.
  • Define, track, and evaluate the results of unit and system-level testing campaigns.
  • Apply a 'bottom-up' philosophy, starting from test and analysis results at the unit level, and analyzing compliance with applicable EMC requirements using specialized software (e.g., CST, FEKO, etc.).
  • Attend technical meetings with partner companies and international clients.
Requirements
  • Degree in electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the EMC field, both at design and testing levels (knowledge of EMC MIL/ECSS regulations is preferred).
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, Mathcad, CST, and/or FEKO, or similar tools for 2D and 3D EMC/RF analysis.
  • Scientific training (mandatory).
  • Good ability to learn new calculation tools (required).
  • Excellent written and oral English.
  • Knowledge of the French language is preferred.
  • Wide willingness to travel, including medium/long-term trips in Italy and abroad (mandatory).
