Position: Senior Software Engineer - Center of Excellence (Hybrid)

The Senior Software Engineer role within the Center of Excellence signifies a high level of technical expertise in product and solution development. This position involves both product and custom development aspects of AVEVA solutions. The Senior Engineer will be tasked with developing, testing, and enhancing product features while addressing application issues related to custom products and integrated AVEVA solutions. This role provides an opportunity to gather and maintain programming expertise on delivered solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with our global CORE team to gain mastery over customer solutions.
  • Investigate, identify, and propose program components to address new features and application challenges identified in the field or internally.
  • Support customers in adopting new solutions and resolve any technical issues escalated from engineering teams.
  • Assist Application Engineers with site-specific challenges during new site implementations and system upgrades.
  • Engage in power monitoring system development projects post-release, contributing by providing insights, executing test scenarios, and participating in product development and testing.
  • Address technical issues escalated from internal teams, providing resolutions and insights.
  • Identify and assess product and solution failures, assisting engineering teams in understanding and resolving these issues.
  • Manage case tracking by documenting cases in our Customer Relationship Management tool and source repository.
  • Contribute to the documentation of new solution features using our Knowledge Base tool.
  • Design, plan, research, evaluate, and test complex systems for monitoring and controlling program execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years of programming experience.
  • Proficiency in C# and HTML5 for web applications.
  • Familiarity with Entity Framework, .NET Core, Angular, and AngularJS.
  • Experience with SQL database querying and programming.
  • Background in software troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem-solving.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Quick learner with a curious approach to technology.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills in English.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Capacity to work with individuals from diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to various customer sites.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish/French/Italian/German/Dutch is an asset.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Understanding of SCADA and HMI standards.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Advanced technical support experience, either on-site or remotely.
  • Knowledge of AVEVA products.
  • Familiarity with control systems and PLCs.
  • Experience in controls or transformer protection.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
