About the Role

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accounting Operations Excellence Lead to join our team at Shell. As a key member of our Downstream Reporting & Analysis Organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of our financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Support Month-End Closing Activities**: General Ledger close, preparation of manual journals, and making adjustments to final numbers in Group Reporting tool, ensuring key datelines are met for Group & internal reporting.
  • **Complete Accounting Activities**: Timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities, resolving/escalating issues, and ensuring compliance & operating effectiveness for all controls.
  • **Analyze Key Accounts**: Analyze key accounts in Balance Sheet (Blackline) to ensure balances are appropriately reconciled and properly supported.
  • **Perform Local Statutory Reporting**: Perform local statutory reporting activities and ensure timely deliverables.
  • **Manage Control Remediation Initiatives**: Manage control remediation initiatives and participate in statutory, internal control, and system assurance audits.
  • **Perform Thorough Analysis**: Perform thorough analysis of unique and complex accounting issues for due diligence and proper accounting treatment.
  • **Set Priorities**: Set the right priorities regarding multiple work and demands, driving sustainable working.
  • **Act as First Point of Escalation**: Act as first point of escalation for process-related items within the team, resolving or escalating issues timely and effectively.
  • **Develop Continuous Strategies**: Develop continuous strategies to identify Continuous Improvement opportunities and share knowledge/learning among team members.
Requirements
  • **Degree in Finance/Accounting**: Degree in Finance/Accounting or Professional Qualifications.
  • **Minimum 5 Years of Related Working Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of related working experience.
  • **Minimum 2 Years Team Leadership Experience**: Minimum of 2 years team leadership experience.
  • **Working Knowledge & Experience in SAP**: Working knowledge & experience in SAP is an added advantage.
  • **Experience in Handling End-to-End Audit/Local Statutory Reporting**: Experience in handling end-to-end audit/local statutory reporting is an added advantage.
  • **Broad Knowledge of Financial Accounting Requirements**: Broad knowledge of financial accounting requirements (Proficiency in financial accounting practices and IFRS standards).
  • **Good Analytical Skills**: Good analytical skills, meticulous, and able to work independently & prioritize well.
  • **Results-Oriented**: Results-oriented, fast-paced, resourceful, and proactive.
  • **Team-Oriented**: Team-oriented; strong leadership and communication skills.
