About the Role: The Amazon Robotics – Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Team is in search of an exceptional Quality Management System (QMS) Design Manager. This individual will take charge of defining, managing, and sustaining the MSP Quality Management System specifications by planning, coordinating, and executing internal evaluations of operational and safety-critical processes.

This leadership position will collaborate with:

  • Internal Customers: Engaging with Operations, Maintenance, Process, and Ops Engineering to ensure that the QMS specifications align with their requirements.
  • QA Execution Team: Ensuring consistency and alignment of the manual, virtual, and process validation with the QMS specifications.
  • QMS Implementation Lead: Structuring and developing the QMS according to established specifications.

The primary mission of the MSP team is to drive forward-thinking innovation across all facets of Mechatronics and Packaging, utilizing AI-driven industrial hardware/control machines, including robotic cells, autonomous vehicles, sorting, packing technologies, and packaging materials.

We cultivate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as Operations, RME, ACES, Supply Chain, Transportation, and WW Design to ensure the delivery of robust products that seamlessly integrate into the Amazon Fulfillment network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with internal customers to gather feedback and translate it into QMS specifications.
  • Define, update, and maintain the MSP QMS specifications while supporting their implementation.
  • Conduct audits on internal MSP product quality process specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the MSP Safety and Compliance Team to align QMS specifications with the MSP Safety Management System.
  • Serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert on QMS and operational quality.
  • Assist in managing the scope, budget, schedule, issues, risks, communication, and other necessary elements of the QMS.
  • Establish quality metrics for MSP products and facilitate their implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to QMS processes and procedures during product testing and validation.
  • Maintain compliance of QMS specifications with relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, and organizational policies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS).
  • Demonstrated experience in defining QMS specifications for advanced robotics, automotive or mechatronic products, AI systems, and quality management tools.
  • Theoretical and practical experience in quality auditing, evaluation, and QMS design according to international standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% to various business locations and project sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree (MSc) in Engineering, Mechatronics, or Robotics.
  • Strong analytical, testing, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment and systems, including AI and robotics.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and management.
  • Project management expertise to successfully plan, execute, and complete tasks.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and/or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
  • Proven experience in fulfillment systems with storage equipment and automated sortation systems.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations, including auditing and assessment processes.
