About the Role

Britoil Offshore Services Pte Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Superintendent to join our team. As a Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for the full technical management of a certain number of vessels assigned to you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the vessels by composing and maintaining procedures and instructions to ensure activities on board are planned and carried out safely and effectively.
  • Visit the vessels regularly and perform internal technical audits.
  • Ensure performance of preventative and corrective maintenance to the vessels in a cost-effective manner.
  • Execute repairs and dry dockings in accordance with the maintenance plan and the vessels' policy.
  • Prepare and monitor the technical budget.
  • Cooperate with the purchasing department, ensuring goods and services are sourced with the lowest cost of ownership and in adherence to set quality standards and budget settings.
  • Prepare damage claims, including timely reporting to insurance companies to reach satisfactory financial settlements.
  • Ensure adequate follow-up of port state control and vetting inspections.
  • Maintain vessels' documentation in the office as well as computer databases properly and up to date.
Requirements
  • A Higher Nautical or Technical Education diploma.
  • A minimum of two to three years of relevant experience as Chief Engineer/First Engineer or in ship repair/ship management.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to travel frequently and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the Italian flag and flag administration system would be an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English and Italian are essential.
