Research Scientist, Design and Simulation, AWS Center for Quantum Computing Job ID: | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc.The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, all working to innovate in quantum computing for the benefit of our customers.We are looking to hire a Research Scientist to design and model novel superconducting quantum devices, including qubits, readout and control schemes, and advanced quantum processors. Candidates with a track record of original scientific contributions and/or software development experience are preferred. If you are unsure if you meet these requirements, please apply and Amazon will review your application for eligibility.Basic QualificationsPhD in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics or physicsKnowledge of quantum mechanics, with expertise in at least one of the following topics: quantum technologies (sensing, communications, computing, etc.), superconducting qubits, hybrid quantum acoustic devices, cavity/circuit QED, quantum optics, open quantum systems, superconductivity (phenomenology or microscopic theory)Proficient in a scientific programming environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with microwave and/or multiphysics modeling software (e.g., COMSOL, Sonnet, Microwave Office, ANSYS, Keysight ADS, Cadence AWR, Palace, etc.)Experience with device layout scripting and automationEffective teamwork with engineers, scientists and technicians across a range of technical skill levelsAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.CompensationThe base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.
