Network Development Engineer, Enterprise Network

Amazon's Enterprise Network team is looking to hire Network Engineers to help scale and automate one of the world's largest and most complex networks. The Enterprise Network provides mission‑critical global connectivity for internal services, business applications, and infrastructure, supporting over 1,000,000 internal users. In this role you will design, build, and automate next‑generation network architectures for AWS datacenters worldwide. Key Job Responsibilities Be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services. Deploy, scale, and automate our network across many global data centers, including existing footprints and new locations. Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality. Create simple, repeatable processes and improve upon existing processes. Work closely with internal customers on designs and solutions, bringing those from concept to production. Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards. Work closely with our teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF. Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and DNS/DHCP. Experience in automation via Perl or Python programming. Preferred Qualifications Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, network security architecture, and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS‑IS, BGP, MPLS, firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, etc. Experience with one or more of the following vendor platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, Citrix, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc. Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, using robust troubleshooting skills to drive resolution.
