You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The Data Centre Global Engineering Operations organization is looking for an individual with proven and tested leadership skills to help bring to fruition a newly developed Facilities Operations Centre (FOC). The FOC is responsible for 24x7 monitoring of the data centre’s physical infrastructure and will serve as a facilitator for all Large Scale Events (LSEs) and Critical Site Events (CSEs). This role will also be the central monitoring location for the facility electrical and mechanical systems. The team will ensure that the customer experience is optimal and gratifying through consistency, reliability, and attention to detail.Ideal candidates understand how data centre IT infrastructure and data centre facilities infrastructure coexist. They will provide assistance and support to the onsite team, ensuring overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. Candidates will have demonstrated the ability to think outside the box and align the FOC with larger objectives of other business and peer organizations. You will help grow the team to a standard of operational excellence.Key Job ResponsibilitiesMonitors the data centre Amazon facilities infrastructure platformServes as a point of contact for internal and external teamsAssists with the development of communication and escalation protocols designed to improve the team’s performanceContributes to outage post mortem analysisEnsures records are updated in a timely mannerAssists with coordination and communication during emergency recovery effortsAssists with the development of tools that will enhance the team’s performanceSupports a 24x7 environment (shift work may require weekends and holidays)Hold or attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance (see AGSVA eligibility).Basic Qualifications2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience1+ year of experience working with Building and/or Electrical Platform Management Systems2+ years of experience in data centre engineering/operationsPreferred Qualifications3+ years of experience working in a large-scale data centre and 3+ years in a NOC or similarStrong verbal and written communication skills and strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access)Ability to maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting tools; ability to follow and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries, root cause analysis, and complex problem solving skillsAcknowledgement of country:In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
