Fire Engineering plays a vital role in this mission, contributing directly to safer, more sustainable and resilient cities.The Opportunity:Act as project lead, managing services and maintaining direct client interfaceLead the development of fire safety calculations, from simplified methods to advanced modelling (CFD, FEM, and people movement modelling) Liaise with clients from feasibility through to project completion to help define and deliver design ambitions We are seeking a Senior / Lead Fire Engineer to join the Italy team, based in a centrally located Milan office, working on a wide range of technically demanding and mission-critical projects.As Lead Fire Engineer, you will:Lead the design and delivery of fire strategies on complex projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and statutory fire sub-consultantsLead the design of fire protection systems in coordination with internal and external stakeholdersReview and audit fire safety solutions for new and existing buildings and infrastructureManage statutory fire engineering roles delivered by sub-consultantsSupport business development activities including client meetings, bid preparation, and growth of the Fire Engineering disciplineTake responsibility for mentoring, managing, and developing junior colleaguesActively share knowledge and best practice to ensure consistently high-quality delivery About You:You are a passionate and technically strong Fire Engineer with:Chartered Engineer status and a proven track record on mission-critical facilitiesBachelor's degree in Architectural, Mechanical, Building Engineering or similarMaster's degree in Fire Safety Engineering or equivalentStrong experience in fire safety and/or fire protection engineeringHigh level of English and Italian (C1 or equivalent)Solid knowledge of international and local fire safety standards (BS, NFPA, FM Global, Italian fire codes) Beneficial software experience includes:BIM: RevitHydraulic calculations: NamirialCFD fire and smoke modelling: FDS / AnsysPeople movement modelling: Mass Motion / Legion / ConquerorStructural fire modelling: SAFIR / LS-DYNA Why Join?Professional Growth & Development: Continuous learning, structured training, and mentorshipGlobal Opportunities: Collaboration with international teams and potential short- or long-term global assignmentsFinancial Well-being & Ownership: Competitive salary, benefits package, and participation in a global profit-sharing programmeFlexible Working: Flexible arrangements supporting financial, physical, and mental wellbeing
