Hardware Development Engineer (Electrical Engineer), Ring Accessories HW Team As a Hardware Development Engineer (Electrical Engineer), you will design, develop, and validate electrical systems for Ring devices and services. You will lead complex technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative hardware solutions that delight our customers. You will also leverage AI tools and methodologies to enhance electrical design processes and outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop analog and digital circuits for consumer electronicsCreate and review schematics and PCB layoutsDevelop power management solutions and power distribution networksImplement high‑speed digital interfaces and ensure signal integrityDesign for EMI/EMC compliance and conduct pre‑compliance testingDevelop electrical test plans and validation proceduresTroubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issuesCollaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teamsDocument designs, test results, and technical specificationsEvaluate new components and technologies for future productsManage relationships with external vendors and manufacturing partnersApply AI tools and techniques to optimize electrical designs and processesCollaborate with data scientists to develop AI‑driven solutions for electrical engineering challengesAbout the Team The Ring Accessories Hardware Development team creates the devices that millions of customers use every day. We are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance our design processes, optimize product performance, and create more innovative solutions.Basic Qualifications3+ years of experience in electrical design and developmentProficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence, or similar)Experience with analog and digital circuit designKnowledge of power management and power supply designUnderstanding of signal integrity and high‑speed design principlesExperience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers)Strong problem‑solving and analytical skillsBasic understanding of AI concepts and applications in electrical engineeringExperience using AI‑assisted design tools for circuit optimizationPreferred QualificationsExperience with embedded systems and microcontroller programmingKnowledge of wireless technologies (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, cellular)Experience with FPGA design and implementationFamiliarity with regulatory compliance requirements (FCC, CE)Experience with design for manufacturing and test (DFM/DFT)Track record of innovation and technical leadershipExperience mentoring junior engineersAdvanced knowledge of machine learning applications in electrical design optimizationExperience implementing AI for automated test pattern generation or fault diagnosisAbility to collaborate with data scientists to develop custom AI solutions for electrical engineering problemsExperience with AI‑driven circuit simulation and optimizationKnowledge of how to integrate sensor data with AI/ML models for electrical systemsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
