We remain deeply rooted in the communities in which we operate and where our colleagues live and work.The Electrified Powertrain Controls Engineer will work within a Centre Of Excellence (CoE) belonging to the Product Release Centre (PRC) Electrified Propulsion Controls and will contribute to the development of electrified powertrain systems for current and next-generation electrified powertrains for Stellantis vehicles.Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate, who is a strong team player and willing to work in a fast paced environment, will have experience in modern and classical control strategies with a powertrain subsystem application (engine, transmission, electric motors, thermal, charging, etc.). Being system focused and having interdisciplinary experience, the candidate must be able to significantly contribute to the development of hybrid operating strategies in torque management, thermal management, energy management & charging, monitoring and remedial action, and diagnostics.Main ActivitiesReading of the high level requirements related to the intended vehicle-level behavior.Designing the appropriate control algorithm that fulfills the functional objectives.Implementation of the control algorithm in Matlab/Simulink, C, etc.Provide best-guess calibration dataset.Pre-verification of the implementation, check of the requirements' compliance, through Model In The Loop (MIL) testing.Pre-verification of the generated code, through Software in the Loop (SIL) testing or specific tools able to monitor the consumption of software resources (e.g. VRAM, throughput).Generation of integrated proto code builds.Verification of official code builds or proto code builds in the HIL lab or in the vehicle, using ETAS INCA tools.Analysis and response to the tracked issues.Attendance to the main technical meetings, data analysis and issues' resolution.Process documentation development.Calibration & Application community support.ProfileFundamental knowledge PillarsKnowledge of modern and classical control principlesKnowledge of major vehicle systemsDomain knowledge (Thermal, torque, diagnostics, functional safety, charging)Embedded control development tools and processesBasic QualificationsMasters of Science in Applied Automation, Electronics, Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer EngineeringMinimum of 1 year experience in one or more of the specialty areas listed above - an advanced degree and/or academic research in a related field may count towards experience requirementDemonstrated technical problem solvingStrong overall knowledge of vehicle and powertrain functionsExperience with modeling, simulation, development, testing, calibration and/or validationOutstanding interpersonal and problem solving skillsDetailed QualificationsTechnical skillsAutomotive Electrified Systems & Architectures fundamentalsVehicle energy managementRobust Control techniquesC and C++ code structure and markupThe MathWorks modeling and auto-code suite (Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder)D-SPACE TargetLink auto-code generation toolExcellent know-how of ETAS INCA toolUsage of CANALYZER toolUsage of ControlDesk and HIL toolsOn Board Diagnostics (OBD) standards and architectureISO/SAE standard norms for CAN/LIN communicationAbility to analyze and deploy High and Low Level Requirements documentationAbility to analyze issues descriptions and provide a resolutionExperimental data analysis and calibration methodology definitionAbility to perform verification activitySoft and Leadership skills: capability to work in a team and in an international environmentAvailability to business trips (mainly United States of America)English: autonomous in listening and readingPassion in automotive field for all its declinations (from vehicle setup to assembly process)B driving licenseAt Stellantis, we assess candidates based on qualifications, merit and business needs.
