We’re looking for an ambitious full‑stack engineer who is laser‑focused on solving customer problems and making the right long‑term investments. The pay is competitive and based on skills and experience.About the Role and How We WorkOur culture combines the agency of a seed startup with the scale of a growth‑stage company. You write product specs, make design and technical decisions, and build in a low‑meeting, high‑ownership environment. Ashby’s growth metrics are best‑in‑class: tens of millions in ARR, >100% YoY growth, very low churn, and many years of runway.ResponsibilitiesOwn large portions of product features end‑to‑end, wearing hats traditionally worn by product and design.Research competitors, write product specs, create wireframes, and prototype solutions.Design and build automated interview scheduling, declarative filter architecture, and in‑app signing offers.Collaborate with stakeholders, mentors senior engineers, and communicate progress effectively.Reduce process bottlenecks, automate repetitive tasks, and create reusable abstractions.QualificationsFull‑stack engineering experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, Postgres, and Redis.Ability to tackle ambiguity, balance speed and quality, and build powerful abstractions.Excellent communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset.Ambition to continuously improve skills and deliver high‑impact product features.Engineering CultureMinimal process, ownership of decisions normally made by product and design.Natural collaboration, deliberate communication, and focus on tooling.Diverse hiring, inclusive workforce, and equal employment opportunities.Interview ProcessIntroduction call with hiring manager (15‑30m).Technical screen with pair programming in live codebase (1h).Three non‑coding interviews focusing on product thinking, technical design, and infrastructure (3h 15m total).BenefitsCompetitive salary and equity with a 10‑year exercise window for stock options.Unlimited PTO and a minimum of 12 weeks fully paid parental leave.Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget.$100/month education budget and top‑tier health insurance for U.S. employees.Ashby provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
