Who we are:   Prysmian is a global cabling solutions provider leading the energy transition and digital transformation.  We are a public company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, with almost 150 years of experience, over 30,000 employees, 104 plants and 27 R&D centers in over 50 countries.  Your contribution to Prysmian's Success: OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE: The Submarine Installation Marine Engineer role covers mainly the function of Installation Engineer in the office work and partially Offshore Manager/Deputy Offshore Manager in the offshore installation sites. You will enjoy: the following activities: Installation Engineer – Office-Based Responsibilities Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Installation, System Design, Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality, Purchasing) to support submarine cable system projects. Prepare detailed installation documentation (“Installation Manual”) including: Operational procedures for cable installation (route clearance, PLGR, cable loading, laying, burial). Technical drawings, calculations, and risk assessments. Installation schedules and asset planning. Define and prepare installation assets (vessels, burial machines, equipment). Lead technical aspects of subcontractor selection and specification drafting. Ensure compliance with technical and quality standards for cable and equipment handling. Oversee asset certification, usage, and maintenance (vessels, subsea machines, tools). Monitor project constraints, contract clauses, and operational efficiency. Maintain client relationships and supervise subcontractors during installation phases. Interface with internal departments for reporting and coordination. Prepare final project documentation (“As-built Reports”) consolidating all execution records. Marine Operation Superintendent – Offshore Responsibilities Execute marine installation activities on vessels and offshore sites (e.g., landing points, platforms). Lead and coordinate teams based on project complexity. Manage: Route clearance, PLGR, pre-lay burial, vessel mobilization. Cable loading, laying, burial, and pulling through HDD or onto platforms. Cable repair and jointing operations. Ensure adherence to HSE standards, technical procedures, and quality requirements. Function requires significant travel on an international basis. You are the right fit if you have/are:  Preferred to have a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. In Engineering Technology or other Engineering related subjects Preferably experience in a role involved in installation of submarine cable but more in general in the construction industry. This is not a mandatory requirement since the industry sector is very specific, to be noted that Prysmian has a dedicated training and development process within Marine Operations department.
