OverviewDeadline to apply: 18/02/2026We are looking for an Occupational & Industrial Safety Specialist to support the European Space Agency (ESA) at their location in Frascati, Italy as part of the consultants Workforce Management Service for the Operational Launch System Safety Office.The Safety Operational Office for Flight Programmes supports Launcher and launch systems development and interfaces with other Space Transportation Departments and ESA Directorates on demand. As an Occupational & Industrial Safety Specialist, you will support ESA’s occupational and industrial safety activities across multiple programmes, ensuring all on-site operations, facilities, and industrial processes meet regulatory and organizational safety expectations.The selected candidate may additionally be appointed to the role of Service Manager, subject to relevant experience and operational needs.Employment and security notes: The successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). We consider all eligible candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, handicap (categorie protette L.68/99 art.1), or any other reason protected by relevant state or municipal legislation.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:Facility & Equipment Safety AssessmentsEvaluate facilities and equipment against applicable labour code, environmental code, ATEX, EMC, and industrial safety standards.Provide gap analyses and recommendations for upgrades or corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.Occupational Safety ReviewsReview programme documents, operational procedures, and risk assessments to ensure alignment with occupational safety best practices.Assess safety analyses and advise project teams on improvements for worker protection and incident prevention.Regulatory Monitoring & ComplianceTrack the evolution of relevant safety regulations and standards, advising ESA teams on required adjustments.Support compliance activities related to ICPE, pyrotechnic regulations, and environmental requirements.OnSite Supervision & Prevention PlansSupport the elaboration of prevention plans and supervise execution of safety practices during onsite activities, including contractor coordination.Identify deviations, propose corrective measures, and ensure timely implementation.Cross Programme SupportContribute to risk analyses, emergency preparedness, equipment handling, and safety audits across ESA facilities.Notes on candidacyPlease ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection.Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Safety Engineering, or equivalent;Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in the domain of the position;Expertise in industrial safety, occupational safety, or risk management;Strong knowledge of European safety codes and regulatory requirements;Ability to coordinate on site safety and work with contractors;Experience in service coordination or the potential to assume Service Manager duties will be considered an asset;Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;Due to the nature of the role and the required security protocols, only applicants who are nationals of EU or ESA Member States can be considered.Fluency in English, both written and spoken.Fluency in French, both written and spoken, is an asset.How to applyPlease submit your application in English via the apply button below.
