Job Summary The Application Engineer provides direct technical support to internal and external customers regarding product/application information, product selection, and special quotations. In projects related to Building Service, Industrial, or Public Utilities applications or involving key customers, the role works closely with Sales and coordinates the activities of internal departments (Product Management, R&D, Operations) to deliver requested documentation and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Provide customers with technical support for selection of standard/customized products using extensive knowledge of the product portfolio. Collaborate with Sales to understand customer needs and provide profitable solutions. Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Marketing, Master Planning, and Operations to define the best technical solution. Quote customized/standard products for single projects and develop offers for tenders. Cooperate with the training department and Sales to support customers (customer visit, witness test). Assist Sales Assistants in solving product-related issues. Contribute new ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement. Provide technical solutions to OEM and large/international key accounts in the EMEA region. Support OEM KAMs of Xylem Commercial team. Provide feedback to product management on highly requested special features. Attend exhibitions. Visit customers on demand for technical support to the commercial team. Collaborate on project management and cross‑boundary initiatives. Organize, prioritize, and plan work effectively. Communicate openly, maintain a positive approach, and exhibit customer orientation. Demonstrate inspiring accountability, problem‑solving, and conflict management skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering. Good spoken and written English and Italian are mandatory. Additional languages are a plus. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in a related field and position. Experience in Customer Service areas (Technical Support, After Sales, Pre‑Sales) is a plus. Experience dealing with complex organizations and processes, demonstrating cross‑boundary collaboration.
