This is an opportunity to contribute to the future of global data infrastructure.We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to manage and oversee budgeting, cost control and contract administration for data center construction projects in Hong Kong SAR. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, global environment. If you\'re ready to grow with one of the fastest-moving companies in the data center industry, apply now and be part of our global journey.ResponsibilitiesCost Estimation and Budgeting: develop accurate cost estimates for data center construction projects, considering materials, labour, equipment, subcontractor costs and overhead expenses; review quantity take-offs from project plans and specifications to determine material quantities; collaborate with project stakeholders to review plans and scopes of work and ensure comprehensive cost coverage; develop project budgets aligned with client requirements, timelines and profit margins; monitor budgets throughout the project lifecycle and address variances.Cost Analysis and Control: establish and maintain cost standards; monitor pricing performance and conduct reviews; implement robust cost control measures to track and manage project costs without compromising quality or efficiency; monitor costs, analyse variances and implement measures to keep within approved budgets; conduct cost variance analysis and identify optimization opportunities; provide insights on cost drivers and trends; identify opportunities for value engineering and cost-saving initiatives; assess impact of design changes and contract variations on costs, preparing change orders and estimates as needed; prepare regular cost reports (budgets, variances, cash flow) for stakeholders; conduct periodic cost audits for compliance.Financial Planning and Forecasting: ensure accuracy of financial data related to construction projects (revenue recognition, cost accruals, profitability); collaborate with finance teams to integrate project cost data into financial reporting systems; monitor KPIs related to costing and profitability; provide insights on financial performance, risks and opportunities.Contract Administration: monitor contract performance for compliance; coordinate with stakeholders to resolve contract-related issues; interpret contract terms; develop and implement related procedures; handle contractual claims, disputes and negotiations; liaise with legal counsel to address matters.Compliance and Continuous Improvement: support process improvements to enhance costing accuracy and efficiency; identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage technology for costing practices; stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements; ensure compliance with policies related to costing, accounting and contract administration.RequirementsDegree in Quantity Surveying / Cost Engineering / Construction Management / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering.Minimum 10 years of experience in cost control, quantity surveying, or project control within the industrial, construction or data center sector.Experience with Hong Kong, international or APAC projects.Strong knowledge of cost control principles and methodologies with a track record of managing construction/industrial project costs.Proficiency in reviewing quantity takeoffs, preparing detailed cost estimates, and conducting cost analysis.Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes; ability to interpret project plans and specifications.Experience with cost estimating software and tools (e.g., CostX, RSMeans, Primavera, Excel).Excellent financial analysis skills and ability to interpret financial data and provide insights for decision-making.Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Chinese and Cantonese to collaborate with project teams, contractors, suppliers and clients.Meticulous attention to detail; effective teamwork and interpersonal skills for Hong Kong and international project structures.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in SAP or similar ERP solutions is advantageous.Professional certification (e.g., RICS, HKIS) is a plus.DayOne is a data center pioneer that develops and operates next-gen digital infrastructure for industry leaders who demand reliable, cost-effective and quickly scalable solutions.
