Your organization will be part of the larger Global App Experience team, responsible for developing the apps and supporting systems for Prime Video across all platforms (iOS, Android, Smart TVs, Fire TVs, and streaming devices).The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, crisp executive communication, and the ability to drive technical innovation at scale. They will have a proven track record of building 3-year technical visions, leading cross-functional initiatives, and developing high-performing engineering organizations that deliver customer-obsessed solutions.Key job responsibilitiesDevelop and communicate multi-year technical strategy and architectural vision for Prime Video client experiencesLead and scale multiple engineering teams across complex, interdependent systemsDrive innovation in streaming technology, identifying and solving big problems that unlock customer valuePartner with senior leadership across Product, UX, and Engineering to align on strategic priorities and resource allocationEstablish engineering excellence standards, operational metrics, and continuous improvement practices across teamsPresent technical strategy and progress to VP-level stakeholders with clarity and executive presenceA day in the lifeFacilitate strategic planning sessions to define 3-year technical roadmaps and architectural evolutionConduct leadership team meetings to align on cross-team dependencies and remove organizational blockersReview and provide strategic guidance on major architectural decisions and system design proposalsPartner with peers to negotiate resource allocation and coordinate large-scale initiativesMentor engineering managers and senior engineers on technical leadership and career developmentAnalyze customer experience metrics and drive data-driven decisions on platform investmentsCommunicate engineering progress and strategic recommendations to senior leadershipBasic Qualifications10+ years of engineering experience5+ years of engineering team management experience10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experienceExperience partnering with product or program management teamsExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsExperience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience partnering with product and program management teamsExperience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applicationsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
