We are committed to maintaining the physical infrastructure of AWS, ensuring the standards for operational performance in the areas of safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.Join our innovative team where you'll contribute to maintaining and optimizing critical infrastructure that powers digital experiences for millions of customers worldwide.Key Job ResponsibilitiesRole location: Melbourne, VICApplication dates: 3 Dec 2025 – 31 Dec 2025Full‑time, permanent roleSalary range $90,000 to 100,000 AUDParticipate in a 24/7 rotating shift patternUndertake and support management of both routine maintenance and emergency service of a variety of critical systems such as switch‑gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, fire systems, etc.Installation of new rack capacity and provisioning of power/coolingOn‑site management of contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislationEstablish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports and documentation of all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance; manage the facility’s assetsGenerate change management requests & incident management tickets for all facility related events (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and assist in the resolution of infrastructure engineering and services issuesCollaborate with data center IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate day‑to‑day operations, projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiencyDrive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability as well as assist in the design implementation, commissioning and build‑out of new data center facilitiesA Day in the LifeAttending operational meetings to foster awareness of important activities across the Melbourne data centre regionMentoring and development of less experienced engineering operations techniciansPlanning and scheduling of maintenance activities for critical infrastructureCollaborating on solving complex engineering problems impacting critical infrastructureCollaboration with other AWS data centre regions globallyAbout the TeamOur team values diverse perspectives and fosters an environment where everyone can contribute their unique insights to solve complex challenges.
