We are elevating our offerings, including a completely new app experience and an expanded network of wellbeing partners.THE OPPORTUNITY We are hiring a Backend Software Engineer Specialist in our CARE area in PortugalWe are looking for a passionate and skilled Software Engineer to join our team and help us build solutions by providing high-quality data to improve Wellhub’s products and provide partner data to all areas of the company.You will join a team responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive database of information on our existing and potential partners. This includes discovering and collecting data from various sources and formats (text, photo, video, audio), processing and enriching this data, and transforming it into actionable insights that enhance partner content, user recommendations, business intelligence, and the overall quality of our platform. We expect all candidates to be avid learners, team workers, and not afraid to fail fast and try again.YOUR IMPACT You will be working in one or more of the following areas :Web Crawling & ScrapingHTTP requestsHTML parsingDynamic scrapingCrawling best practicesOptical Character Recognition (OCR)Third-Party API IntegrationREST APIs (authentication via tokens, OAuth, etc.)Google Places APIMeta (Facebook Graph API)OpenStreetMap (Nominatim, Overpass API)Data Processing & TransformationData handling and cleaningData validation and modelingTesting & Quality AssuranceUnit and integration testingMocking external APIsAPI Development and IntegrationDesign and develop APIs.Ensure APIs are secure, scalable, and performant.Ensure seamless integration with other software systems, enhancing interoperability and functionality (e.g., WhatsApp, Slack, Teams, Google Chat, and other 3rd party mobile applications).Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to non‑technical stakeholders.Live the mission: inspire and empower others by genuinely caring for your own wellbeing and your colleagues. Bring wellbeing to the forefront of work, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves, taking time off, and finding work‑life balance.WHO YOU AREBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.Expertise in technically leading a software engineering team.Strong skills in programming languages such as Python, Go, Kotlin, or Java.Experienced in working with SQL / NoSQL technologies (e.g., OpenSearch, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL) understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls.Experience with API development and integration.Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Able to work efficiently on highly scalable and distributed projects.Proven experience with projects where the scope is not clearly defined.Faster learner, easily adapting to new technologies quickly and efficiently.Passionate and proven experience to build reliable minimum viable products and pilots in a short amount of time.We recognize that individuals approach job applications differently.
