Mission/Objectives

The mission of this role, in strict partnership with the regional HSE Team, is to deploy in the factory the global and regional programs promoting safe behaviors and best working practices , proactively shaping them according to the local needs and opportunities.

General Description Of The Role

Reporting solid line to the Plant Director and dotted line to the Regional HSE Manager - EMEA, actively contributes to lead the HSE function locally and to spread the HSE principles among the factory, progressively switching from a "reactive" to a "proactive excellence" mode in managing HSE.

Key Responsibilities And Activities

  • Fulfil the role of the Responsible for Prevention and Protection Service (RSPP) according to Legislative Decree 81/08, including risk assessment, definition of preventive and protective measures, safety procedures, worker training requirements, collaboration with the Occupational Company doctor and support to the Employer in all statutory obligations.
  • Drive HSE leadership across all levels of the organization, promoting accountability, engagement and continuous improvement in safety performance and culture.
  • Challenge operational decisions and elevate significant HSE risks when necessary, ensuring that safety and environmental risks are effectively managed and that legal and corporate requirements are met.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HSE-related interactions with regulatory authorities, external auditors, insurers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental permits and regulatory requirements, including emissions, wastewater, waste management, chemical storage and environmental reporting obligations.
  • Develop and improve HSE management systems in the factory to ensure compliance with Corporate guidelines and Legal requirements
  • Manage locally the company program for certification against HSE related international standards as deemed required - ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001
  • Define and implement programs to achieve Local HSE targets
  • Ensure Campari Group HSE systems and tools are locally implemented and properly used to monitor targets and boost HSE performance
  • Operationally implement global programs supporting HSE performance improvement and behavioral change, with specific reference to Life Protecting Systems (i.e, fall protection, confined space entry, isolation of hazardous energy-lockout, fire protection, hazardous chemicals, pressure vessels and electrical safety) and operations (GHG, water and energy use, circular economy, WWT plants)
  • Ensure the adequacy of the Crisis and Emergency preparedness and response system of the factory
  • Provide guidance and support to the factory leadership team and workers regularly present in the factory, to ensure that operations are conducted according to HSE principles and requirements
  • Identify best practices and lessons learned to improve HSE programs realized in the factory and share with the Campari Group organization
  • Review with FP&A and Engineering the budget / CAPEX related to HSE aspects in the factory
  • Support engineering and operational teams in Management of Change processes, ensuring that HSE risks are adequately assessed before implementation of modifications to equipment, processes or facilities.
  • Contribute to spreading a safety culture and awareness of health and safety requirements across the organization, motivating employees to follow and continuously improve company standards
  • Coordinate safety and prevention activities within the company, in compliance with applicable legislation and with the assessment of accident risks based on production risk analysis and structural conditions
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable HSE legislation, regulatory developments and relevant interpretations, ensuring that local procedures and documentation remain compliant
  • Propose and manage safety plans, procedures and operating instructions to protect employees' physical integrity, health, workplace safety and workplace hygiene
  • Plan and perform HSE audits, inspections and compliance assessments, ensuring timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, ensuring root cause analysis, corrective actions and organizational learning.
  • Prepare periodic reporting on accidents and near misses, develop H&S management system performance indicators, and contribute to the update and dissemination of the EH&S policy
  • Develop and oversee contractor and visitor safety management processes, ensuring appropriate qualification, risk assessment, supervision and compliance with company and legal requirements
