Job Title: Senior Scrum Master (Freelance Contract)Contract Type: FreelanceDuration: 6–12 months + ExtensionDaily Rate: NegotiableEligible locations: Anywhere in ItalyPrimary location: Florence (company headquarters)Role DescriptionFor one of our top-tier financial services clients operating in a complex enterprise environment, we are looking for a Senior Scrum Master to support multiple Agile teams in a highly technical domain.The Scrum Master will play a key role in enabling Agile delivery across three teams, working closely with Product Owners, technical teams, and a Transformation Manager. The ideal candidate is an experienced Agile facilitator with a strong delivery- and measurement-oriented mindset, capable of operating at a technical team level and ensuring the correct application of Scrum and/or Kanban practices in complex organisational contexts.Experience in financial services (banking, insurance, financial institutions) is a plus but not mandatory.ResponsibilitiesAct as Scrum Master for up to 3 Agile teams in a technical domain (e.g. data platforms / data hub environments)Support Product Owners in backlog management and prioritizationOrganise, facilitate, and continuously improve Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Reviews, Retrospectives)Promote and spread the Agile mindset within teams and across the organisationSupport teams in value creation, delivery objectives, and continuous improvementIdentify, manage, and help remove impediments and delivery blockersEnsure correct understanding and application of Scrum and Agile principlesManage and apply Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban) appropriatelyCoordinate interactions between teams, stakeholders, and the Transformation ManagerMonitor delivery progress and Sprint outcomesDefine, track, and report Scrum and delivery KPIs, with a strong focus on measurementEnsure compliance with internal processes, Chapter guidelines, and agreed timelinesUse and manage Agile tools, particularly JiraFoster strong relationships within and across teamsProvide regular reporting and status updates to managementRequirements3–4+ years of experience as a Scrum MasterProven experience managing multiple Agile teams simultaneouslyStrong practical knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologiesExperience working with technical IT teams (data, platforms, or similar domains preferred)Ability to engage at a technical level with development teamsExperience in complex or enterprise environmentsBackground in banking, insurance, or financial services is a plusStrong delivery focus and experience with KPI-based performance trackingHands‑on experience with JiraAbility to report effectively to senior stakeholders and transformation leadershipEnglish: nice to haveNice to HaveKnowledge of Lean / Agile Portfolio Management frameworksAgile or Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM, SAFe, etc.) Interested?
