This role demands a strategic leader passionate about delivering tournament-level playing conditions while fostering sustainability and innovation. Reporting to the Director of Agronomy, you will manage a skilled team dedicated to upholding Tenuta Toscana’s uncompromising standards of quality.Main duties and responsibilitiesLead all aspects of golf course maintenance including turfgrass management, irrigation, pest control, landscaping, and environmental stewardship. Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic programs tailored to maintain and enhance premium playing conditions year-round. Supervise, mentor, and develop the agronomy staff, promoting a culture of excellence, safety, and professional growth. Collaborate with golf operations, design consultants, and senior management on course improvements, capital projects, and tournament preparations. Manage departmental budgets, procurement, and resource allocation efficiently to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness. Ensure strict compliance with environmental regulations, sustainable practices, and health & safety standards. Maintain and optimize irrigation and drainage infrastructure for water conservation and turf health. Proactively communicate progress, challenges, and innovations with leadership and stakeholders.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or related field preferred. Minimum 10 years’ experience in golf course management, with at least 5 years as a Superintendent at a premier facility or private club. Expertise in turfgrass science, integrated pest management, irrigation technology, and course conditioning. Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of cultivating high-performance teams. Strong budgeting, project management, and organizational capabilities. Fluency in English required; proficiency in Italian is a strong asset.
