Inside the Navigation Services Unit within the area of Ground Segment and Systems Engineering in Rome, we are looking for a Satellite Navigation Engineer. The Satellite Navigation Engineer is an expert in designing, implementing and testing navigation systems and the relevant services. The Satellite Navigation Engineer shall have hands‑on experience (at least 3 years of working experience) designing and coding navigation solutions (with a particular focus on GNSS) using multi‑device, multi‑platform development based on Microservices architectures. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and should be familiar with Agile methodology. Activities Contributing and providing technical support to projects in the PNT field (GNSS in particular) and relevant applications, throughout all project phases, with a focus on the definition, design, development and testing phases; Contributing to the development, maintenance and evolution of software products for the performance monitoring of the navigation service provided by navigation satellite systems in specific user domains; Contributing to the development, maintenance and evolution of the GNSS Competence Centre; Preparation of project proposals (if requested); Preparation of Statement of Work for procurements (if requested); Contributing to the technical project documentation (such as Requirements Documents, Operations Concept Document, Design Documents, User and Administration Manual, etc.); Participating in project reviews; Design, development and verification of sub‑systems oriented to the navigation performance analysis and monitoring, based on cloud architectures, adopting a DevSecOps methodology. Requirements Master’s degree in information technology (Telecommunications Engineering is preferred) or other equivalent subjects with specialization in navigation services. Technical skills General background experience (at least 3 years) in the field of PNT (Position, Navigation & Timing) with a particular focus on GNSS Knowledge of the signal processing chain of a GNSS receiver (signal acquisition and tracking, navigation message decoding) Knowledge of positioning algorithms (LS, WLS, EKF, etc.) and integrity concepts (e.g. MHSS, ARAIM, etc.) Knowledge of the error sources impacting the GNSS solution (satellite ephemeris and clock errors, ionosphere and troposphere errors, local errors such as signal disturbances and multipath propagation, etc.) Basic knowledge of augmentation concepts (PPP, RTK, SBAS) Knowledge of DevSecOps principles Knowledge of security coding standards (OWASP, CWE/SANS) In‑depth knowledge of Programming Languages: Matlab, Python (C++ is a plus) Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and CaaS concept Knowledge of Container Orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.) Knowledge of Linux scripting High‑level written and verbal English communication skills Knowledge of relational database (e.g. PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, MongoDB, Elastic) Basic understanding of networking: TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS Communication Good knowledge of English language Teamwork Problem‑solving Time management Critical thinking What We Offer A stimulating and dynamic working environment with flexible working hours Hybrid working (onsite and off‑site) Meal voucher, company canteen and employee welfare programs Free access to online learning platform with courses from top universities Opportunities for international experiences Why Telespazio At Telespazio, the well‑being, safety, and development of our people are at the heart of our corporate culture.
