As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing turbopump systems for cryogenic rocket engines.Key responsibilitiesLead the turbopump mechanical design from architecture to component design, including the maturation needs of these componentsEnsure that detailed mechanical analysis is performed on the turbopump components and assembly, reviewed and meets the required standards for life and reliability targetsSupport design iterations to turbopump assemblies and/or components, including manufacturing improvements to reduce the cost and lead time of components with the Additive Manufacturing Senior EngineerDevelop validation/verification tools dedicated to the mechanical design and development of turbopumpsIterate turbopump mechanical designs using simulated and real‑world test dataWhat we would love to see from youMinimum of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical fieldOver 6 years of hands‑on experience developing rotating machinery or components, from concept to working prototypesExperience performing turbopump analyses (structural, modal or rotordynamics)Knowledge of turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checksFamiliar with cryogenic fluidsProficient user of ANSYS or equivalentProficient CAD user (Siemens NX is an asset)Fluency in EnglishWhy you should join usWe’re Agile – we make decisions fast whilst keeping our goals and systems in mindWe’re Open and Collaborative – we are transparent about risks and obstacles, so that we can cooperate to overcome themWe have a lot of Fun – we refuel our energy knowing we are democratizing space.
