Working under the guidance of the Class Teacher and School Leadership Team, the successful candidate will contribute to a positive, safe and engaging learning environment, helping students to access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially. The Teacher Assistant plays a key role in supporting classroom organisation, behaviour, learning activities and student wellbeing, while upholding the school’s ethos and commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Class Teacher in delivering well‑planned and engaging lessons by preparing resources, setting up learning spaces and assisting students during activities.Help maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive classroom environment that enables all students to learn effectively.Work with individuals and small groups of students to support learning, using strategies agreed with the Class Teacher to help pupils achieve their learning targets.Monitor and record students’ responses to learning activities, providing regular feedback to teachers on progress, achievements and any concerns.Support positive behaviour by encouraging responsibility, dealing with minor incidents in line with school policy and promoting respectful conduct.Assist with the preparation, organisation and maintenance of classroom materials and resources, including photocopying, laminating, filing and setting up displays of students’ work.Provide supervision and care for students during playtimes, break times, lunch times, trips and school activities, and accompany pupils to the infirmary when needed.
