Using state-of-the‑art equipment, you’ll deliver utility services including painting meters and assisting with maintenance activities. This position involves walking and driving in various weather conditions.We’re looking for energetic, dependable, and hardworking individuals who enjoy working outdoors.Main DutiesStoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and lift weights at a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.Occasionally ascending and descending stairs and ladders.Work a route to complete meter painting and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with training and procedures.Safely working within the regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.Recognize abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion meters under stress, etc., and report to the supervisor.Assists in performing regular inspections for AOC (Atmospheric Corrosion) on Meters.Performs other duties as assigned.Work RequirementsValid, Unexpired Driver’s LicenseUse of Personal VehicleMust also have keen senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification.Must adhere to safety requirements & have customer service experienceMust be able to work outdoors in various weather & walk 3+ miles per dayRate of PayStarting wage: $20.00/hourGuaranteed increases of $0.50 at 60 days and $0.50 at 180 daysWork ScheduleFull-Time | Monday – Friday | 1st ShiftOccasional overnight travel required (company-paid travel and lodging).Personal Vehicle for Daily Work UseReliable transportation required.Technicians are eligible for mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of gas & other vehicle maintenance.What You Will Need to SucceedPassion for Environmental Safety : Protect the community through safe gas detection practices.Tech Savvy : Comfort with hands‑on tools, technology, and mobile/computer systems.Problem Solver : Apply training to safely address natural gas incidents.Customer Focus : Be professional, responsive, and represent the company with care.Strong Communicator : Accurately relay findings and field information.Detail‑Oriented : Vigilance is essential when locating leaks and ensuring accuracy.Physically Fit : Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks efficiently.401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Time Off & HolidaysMileage ReimbursementPaid Travel & Lodging for Overnight WorkOngoing Professional Development & TrainingPhysical RequirementsBending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carrying up to 50 lbs of equipment; being able to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner displaying excellent customer service and performing other duties as assigned; observing and follows all company/client procedures; Possess excellent customer service/communication skills; Be available for overtime (which may include weekends); Be comfortable using computers/technology.EEO StatementSouthern Cross is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
