Media Relations Manager Emerging Countries, International Policy and Press Communications (IPPC)Job ID: | Amazon EU SARL (Germany Branch) - D70Join the International Policy and Press Communications (IPPC) team, part of the International Stores & Corporate Comms (ISCC) organization, responsible for Amazon communications across 29 countries outside of the U.S. and China.In this role, you'll be at the heart of international communications, leading daily cross-regional coordination calls, collaborating with different countries and shaping media narratives across emerging countries (= countries in which Amazon recently launched a marketplace or doesn\'t have any marketplace but delivers to).You can be based in Munich, London, Luxembourg, Paris, Madrid, Dublin, or Milan.ResponsibilitiesLead the daily call that brings all international teams together, serving as the central hub for coordinating media cycles and breaking news across regionsHandle incoming media inquiries for emerging countries, fostering strong relationships with local journalists and media outlets, and serving as a company spokesperson, when appropriate, to ensure accurate, positive, and value-aligned coverageSupport more established emerging countries with media inquiries and advise, where neededDevelop and execute proactive external communication campaigns to strengthen Amazon's corporate reputationProactively help protect the company's reputation through strategic media engagement, identifying future challenges, and resolving communication gaps, misconceptions, and message clarity issuesDevelop tools, processes, and briefing documents to enable in-country media relations managers to succeed and scale their impactCollaborate closely with international stakeholders (PR, legal, public policy, and business teams) providing communication strategies, risk assessments, and guidance to ensure smooth rollout of new initiatives, organizational changes, and business launchesSupport and coordinate both internal events (team meetings, training, summits) and external public-facing events for media relations and communication campaigns, including venue selection, content development, speakers, and entertainmentMonitor media coverage, evaluate campaign success, and prepare internal reports for the corporate communications teamA day in the lifeMonitor coverage and breaking newsLead the daily call that brings all international teams together, serving as the central hub for coordinating media cycles and breaking news across regionsHandle incoming media inquiries for emerging countries, serving as a company spokesperson when appropriate to ensure accurate, positive, and value-aligned coverageHelp protect the company's reputationCollaborate with internal stakeholders (PR, Legal, Business Teams, Policy), and provide communication concepts, risk assessments, and guidance to ensure smooth rollout of new initiatives, businesses, or organizational changesIdentify and solve communication challenges, such as resolving information gaps, addressing misconceptions in the media, and improving message clarityBasic QualificationsBachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related fieldExperience in public relations or professional communicationsExperience managing multiple priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExperience working across cultures in international teamsExcellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levelsExcellent problem solver with a strong customer-obsessed, forward-thinking, innovative, hands-on and can-do attitudePreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of additional languages beneficialExperience with reactive communications / issues managementAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
