Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Energy System EngineeringBe among the first 25 applicants.Full time, 2‑year convertible tenure track.Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia.Lecturer – Level B: AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuationSenior Lecturer – Level C: AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuationOpportunityJoin the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. As a Lecturer (Level B), you will develop scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally, while contributing to the teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will establish an internationally recognised research program, strengthen industry partnerships, and foster collaborations that drive impactful research.We are seeking a candidate with a proven research background and strong educational experience in thermo‑mechanical engineering, with a special focus on energy generation and storage systems. The ideal candidate has experimental expertise in renewable energy and storage technologies and expertise in the reliability and durability of energy generation and storage systems.Skills & ExperienceLecturer (Level B)PhD in a directly relevant area (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Systems).Demonstrated track record in thermo‑mechanical engineering of energy systems, including renewable energy and energy storage technologies, and reliability/durability of energy components.Experience translating research results into practical outcomes.Capacity to develop alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery.High level communication skills and ability to network effectively with diverse students and staff.Teamwork and cross‑disciplinary collaboration skills.Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training as required.Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures.Senior Lecturer (Level C)PhD in a directly relevant area (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Systems).Proven ability and track record in thermo‑mechanical engineering of energy systems, including renewable energy and energy storage technologies (e.g., battery systems) and reliability/durability of energy components.Extensive experience in translating research results into practical outcomes.Successful track record in attracting research funding from government and/or industrial sectors.Capacity to develop alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery.Excellent communication and networking skills.Experience supervising research students.Teamwork and cross‑disciplinary collaboration.Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training as required.Commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, and relevant policies.Knowledge of health & safety responsibilities and commitment to attend relevant training.Additional details about the specific responsibilities for this position can be found in the position description.
