Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Florence, Italy The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Overview The Data Infrastructure & Acquisition role focuses on all aspects of data collection to support model training operations. We build high-quality datasets at scale through close collaboration between infrastructure, engineering, and research. We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our AI/Data team. What You’ll DoBe scrappy to source new audio data and ingest it into our data pipeline. Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for ingestion, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform. Collaborate with Scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and data quality to power next-generation models. Work with the AI team and leadership to craft the dataset roadmap for Speechify’s products.An Ideal Candidate Should HaveBS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field. 5+ years of industry experience in software development. Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments. Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code; experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP preferred). Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus. Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
