About The Role Boston Scientific is seeking an experienced and visionaryDirector, EMEA Data & AIto lead the strategic development and execution of data science, artificial intelligence, and analytics initiatives across the EMEA region. This newly created leadership role will report to the EMEA Commercial and Digital IT Leader and is ideal for candidates ready to expand their impact beyond traditional IT functions. The Director will drive technological advancement in the healthcare industry by leveraging data‑driven solutions that improve business outcomes, operational efficiency, and customer experience.Your Responsibilities Will Include Data Governance and StrategyLead the development and execution of data strategy and governance across the EMEA regionEnsure continuous improvement of data quality for internal and external stakeholders, including GPOs and HCPsEstablish and maintain frameworks for data governance, ethics, and compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulationsEnsure all data is trustworthy, compliant, and AI‑readyAI, Data Science, and Product LeadershipOversee the development, deployment, and lifecycle management of AI/ML modelsEnsure alignment with business strategy and regulated IT infrastructureProvide technical leadership across data science, data engineering, and AI/ML functionsStrategic Vision and AlignmentCollaborate with AI delivery teams to ensure alignment of regional business priorities with scalable, AI‑driven solutionsDefine and consolidate long‑term product strategies and roadmaps for the EMEA regionDeliver a clear, actionable product vision aligned with company and market needsTeam Leadership and CultureLead and develop a high‑performing team of data scientists and engineersFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellenceCompliance and Risk ManagementEnsure all AI and data solutions comply with legal, regulatory, and privacy requirementsOversee privacy impact assessments and data‑related incident response processesCross‑Functional CollaborationPartner with Global IT, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and business stakeholders to implement and adopt data solutionsDrive enterprise‑wide adoption and change management of new solutionsStakeholder EngagementAct as a strategic partner across EMEA divisions and functionsManage stakeholder expectations, secure support and funding, and drive alignment for Data & AI initiativesAddress escalations and ensure effective communication across complex environmentsPerformance and Impact MeasurementTrack KPIs and product metrics to measure the success and adoption of AI and data solutionsSupport ongoing change management efforts and solution improvementsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 10 years’ experience in data science, AI/ML, or related data engineering fieldsProven leadership in managing cross‑functional teams and large‑scale data initiativesStrong business acumen and ability to develop ROI‑driven AI business casesIn‑depth knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data engineering practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage non‑technical stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environmentPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or medical technology sectorsFamiliarity with privacy regulations including GDPR and HIPAAExperience working within global or matrixed organizationsWhat We OfferA compelling opportunity to lead impactful and innovative data and AI initiatives across EMEAA collaborative, global work environment with access to leading‑edge technologiesA coaching culture focused on development, leadership, and career growthRequisition ID: As a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most – united by a deep caring for human life.
