The Amazon Global Supply Chain Optimization Technologies organization is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to enhance inbound efficiency and accurate predictions of our supply chain sourcing inbound operations. As a BIE, you will orchestrate inbound freight, improve overall lead times, and drive data‑driven insights that optimize inbound signals, scheduling, and supply chain performance.Key job responsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain complex data models and ETL pipelines to support sourcing analytics.Create and optimize SQL queries for large‑scale data analysis.Build interactive dashboards and visualizations.Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Implement data quality controls and monitoring systems.Develop automated reporting solutions and self‑service analytics capabilities.Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data architecture and performance.About the teamThe Optimal Sourcing Systems (OSS) team at Amazon is at the forefront of revolutionizing global supply chain management. We develop and implement cutting‑edge algorithmic solutions and data platforms that drive Amazon’s sourcing decisions worldwide. Our mission is to optimize the entire procurement process, from vendor selection to inventory placement, ensuring the most efficient and cost‑effective supply chain operations. We tackle complex challenges that directly impact Amazon’s bottom line and customer satisfaction by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and big data technologies to make data‑driven decisions that optimize costs, improve delivery times, and enhance product availability across millions of items.Basic Qualifications2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t‑test, Chi‑squared).Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree, or advanced technical degree.Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design.Experience with statistical analysis, co‑relation analysis.Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R).Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
