WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR System Administrator Linux – Freelance or Fixed-TermLocation: (on-site, 5 days/week)Join our client’s elite technical team in Rome , supporting key activities for European space programs . The company is a long-standing partner of space agencies and institutions , with deep expertise in IT systems, operations, and engineering support for ground segment infrastructures. We are looking for a hands-on System Administrator with a solid Linux background , familiarity with databases , and a B2 level of English . If you’re curious about space, eager to work in a structured and international context, and ready to support a technically robust environment — this role is for you. YOUR TASKS Provide operational and system-level support for test and validation environments Support the writing and review of technical documentation Participate in system verification and validation activities Interface with technical teams during testing and deployment phases Assist with monitoring, log analysis , and problem troubleshooting Collaborate with engineers to ensure system integrity during operational phases YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE To be successful in this role, you will need:Good knowledge of Linux environments Familiarity with at least one relational database (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) English proficiency (minimum B2) – written and spoken Ability to work on-site 5 days per week in Rome Proactive attitude and willingness to collaborate in a team Nice to have: Previous experience in technical documentation or test validation Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware) Knowledge of basic scripting or automation Background in aerospace/space/defense sectors EXTRA INFORMATION Work location:Rome (Tor Tre Teste area – well connected by public transport and with parking available) Work mode: 100% on-site ,5 days per week (Monday to Friday) Type of contract:Freelance or Fixed-Term Contract until January 2026 Possible extension , depending on project evolution Competitive corporate benefits package .
