Design the warehouses of tomorrow by transforming complex customer needs into smart, innovative automation solutions.

As a Solution Designer , you will turn complex warehouse operations into smart, scalable automation solutions. You will design end-to-end concepts that bring together AutoStore, robotics, software, and material handling systems to solve real-world logistics challenges.

Working from customer data, operational requirements, and warehouse processes, you will develop layouts, simulations, system concepts, and integration designs that balance performance, scalability, and commercial viability. You will work closely with customers, Sales teams, and technical specialists throughout the solution design process—from understanding operational challenges and business needs to shaping a complete automation concept.

What you’ll do:

  • Analyze customer data, including SKU profiles, inventory levels, order patterns, throughput requirements, and operational performance.
  • Design warehouse processes and automation solutions that meet current and future business needs.
  • Size, configure, and simulate AutoStore systems.
  • Develop warehouse layouts and technical designs using CAD and 3D modeling tools.
  • Define operational workflows and integration concepts between automation systems, ERP platforms, and WMS solutions.
  • Design Material Flow Control (MFC) processes and system interactions.
  • Prepare technical documentation and customer proposals.
  • Present, discuss, and defend technical solutions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Sales organization throughout the pre-sales process and customer engagements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across software, robotics, automation, and project delivery teams.

Required qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience designing warehouse automation or intralogistics solutions.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Ability to identify trends, evaluate operational requirements, and recommend automation strategies.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for developing technical layouts and solution designs.
  • Strong experience creating and interpreting 2D drawings; experience with 3D modelling and visualization is an advantage.
  • Experience with warehouse automation technologies, software integration, and material handling systems.
  • Professional proficiency in both English and Italian.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proactive approach and willingness to challenge and improve existing solutions.

We believe you will be successful in this role if you are:

  • Analytical and data-driven, with a natural ability to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Curious and eager to understand how warehouses and logistics operations work in practice.
  • Structured and detail-oriented, while maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture.
  • Confident communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commercially aware and able to balance customer needs with technical and business considerations.
