System Development Engineer II, DaS FinTech

The Amazon Devices and Service Finance organization is expanding its technology team, and we are looking for a Systems Development Engineer to architect solutions, build features and tools that will have an immediate impact, as well as partnering with finance and business leaders in Devices and Services to drive results.You will have an opportunity to collaborate with Data Engineers, Application Development Engineers, and Systems Engineers to help build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ETL pipelines, and event monitoring solutions at scale. You will help shape the strategic direction and decisions for data integration and monitoring of critical Devices Finance Data Engineering platforms.As a SysDev Engineer, you should be an expert in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and technologies including but not limited to EC2, S3, RedShift, and Glue, to support real-world big data pipelines. You will build robust and secure solutions to address software vulnerabilities, upgrades and patching.An ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, adapts quickly to new technologies, and has high career growth potential. On a typical day you might:Dive Deep while working with customers, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving problems across various technologiesCreate and update engineering or customer-facing documentationDevelop runbooks, or build tools, used by customers or other Systems EngineersIdentify customer pain points, raising concerns to your team, to shape the product roadmapKey job responsibilitiesAdminister & monitor multiple AWS AccountsSolve both tactical and strategic problems simultaneouslyDesign cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWSWork collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirementsProvision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructureEnsure configuration and compliance with configuration management toolsAdminister and troubleshoot Linux based systems (Amazon Linux 2 AMI)Resolve Problem Management and Resolution ticketsEnsure environment security follows best practicesCognos BI, TM1 and Tableau application Administration and maintenance experienceAct as the technical leader for application support and enhancement issuesPlan and schedule Cognos administration projects; provide technical vision and leadershipMonitor AWS Services and integration with other applications. Also to provide usage and performance metricsPerform some production support duties during off-hours, on rotationBasic QualificationsExperience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructureExperience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, RustExperience with Linux/UnixExperience with CI/CD pipelines build processesExperience with business intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, Power BI and CRM SalesforcePreferred QualificationsExperience with distributed systems at scaleAWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification, or Associate's degree or aboveExperience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvementsExperience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience in software development and experience in Kubernetes, Docker or containers ecosystem5+ years of cloud and on-premise integration experienceOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
