We are looking for a Senior Property Underwriter for Italy and Southern Europe Region based in Milano. Your Team AGCS has a long-standing tradition of supporting the property and business interruption (PDBI) insurance solutions in all kinds of industries, from upper middle market clients to large corporates. Our team has many years of practical experience of leading the largest PDBI risks in the Italy market with international insurance programs. The Impact You Will Have Based in Milano and being a member of the Property WW UW Community. You will work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalized solutions as well as developing new relationships. You will be responsible for work alongside a Global Team and the Regional Head of Underwriting to underwrite profitable new and renewal business. Your responsibilities also include supporting for negotiating participation, pricing and terms & conditions, acquiring new business and retaining existing business. Furthermore, you will be in charge of steering proper pipelines, plans, and portfolio analyses as counterpart of the Global CUO Team with the Local Head of Underwriting. Some of your specific responsibilities will include: Develop and execute the Property Line of Business (LoB) local strategy and proactively support the development of the global LoB strategy; Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients; Ownership of large accounts / clients and ultimate responsibility for accounts. Manage and Steer the local portfolio also creating pipelines, discussing plans, carrying on portfolio analyses Market & Relationship Management Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary); Coordinate with local Distribution to drive successful execution of strategic plan; Communicate local LoB strategy externally in Italy together with Market Contacts and Distribution; Positively represent AGCS internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market; Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g. Distribution, ARC, Claims, Operations Key Requirements/Skills/Experience You have completed an appropriate level of education You ideally have 3/5 years or more relevant experience as an Underwriter, Broker or relevant equivalent in the insurance sector You have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication skills You are able to work in an international matrix organization You have the ability to assess risks, coverages, terms and conditions of a (potential) insurance placement and can translate this into an insurance offer You are a true team player and well established within the market.
