Lead Space Sim Tech-2nd Shift, Amazon LeoJob ID: | Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLCAmazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive and develop departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.Operate environmental test chambers (Thermal cycling, vacuum, HALT/HASS.) and lead process work, reviewing output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.Assemble tooling and assist with equipment maintenance.Lead daily team meeting facilitation, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinate efforts to minimize production interruptions.Support new-hire training programs within your department and contribute to development and modification of training programs. Develop training plans for your team and implement training programs within your department.Drive safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance.Export Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.A day in the lifeThe Lead Space Simulation Technician will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development testing and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. The successful candidate thrives in a fast paced, start-up like environment and is able to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organization goals. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.About the teamWe are a group of Technicians with well over 20 years of diverse skills and experience. Each team member brings in willingness to train and positive team energy. Some tasks you may be an individual contributor, but may also work in a group environment to achieve organizational goals. This group of Technicians thrived in success by working as a team. We are currently in research and development but moving towards production environment.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent3+ years relevant high traceability manufacturing experience (Aerospace / Medical, etc.)3+ years of hands‑on work in test lab environment, using basic hand tools3+ years experience in a fast‑paced production environment with Flight HardwareMinimum 3 years of environmental test experience performing at least one of the following:Vibration TestingShock TestingAcoustic TestingThermal TestingThermal Vacuum TestingPreferred Qualifications3+ years prior leadership experience, to include leading teams, projects or peopleExperience bringing teams and processes from development to productionAble to read, interpret and work from engineering documentation and/or drawingsExperience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirementsAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging work environmentAbility to prioritize work in a complex, fast‑paced environmentProper use and understanding of DMM, torque wrenches, calipers, and other type of measuring devicesExperience installing instrumentation such as accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.Understanding of 5S and lean principlesEqual Opportunity EmployerAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
