Role DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced security mechanisms for embedded systems at both firmware and hardware levels. You will work on secure boot processes, cryptographic key management, and hardware trust anchors to ensure system integrity, confidentiality, and protection against vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in low-level programming, cryptography, and embedded architectures, along with hands‑on experience in security testing and threat mitigation. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and compliant solutions for mission‑critical applications, contributing directly to the robustness and security of our embedded platforms.Objective / MissionThe Senior Embedded Security Engineer ensures the design, development, and integration of advanced security solutions for embedded systems, safeguarding boot processes, cryptographic keys, and sensitive operations at both hardware and firmware levels. This role is essential for implementing robust protection mechanisms and preventing vulnerabilities in mission‑critical devices.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop security solutions for embedded firmware and hardware.Implement and manage Secure Boot processes.Integrate and utilize Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and Hardware Trust Anchors (HTA) for secure key management and cryptographic operations.Develop and optimize secure and efficient cryptographic libraries.Apply mechanisms to prevent memory‑based attacks (e.g., buffer overflow, code injection).Perform embedded security testing, including fuzzing, reverse engineering, and penetration testing.Collaborate with development teams to ensure compliance with relevant security standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 11889 for TPM).Document processes, procedures, and results of security testing activities.Job related informationSalary range proportional to the level of seniorityLocation: Onsite Rome (Italy)AuthorityThe Senior Embedded Security Engineer reports directly to the CTO.RequirementsExcellent knowledge of TPM (ISO/IEC 11889), root of trust, key exchange protocols, and symmetric/asymmetric cryptography.Proven experience in developing security solutions at firmware and hardware level.Strong understanding of Secure Boot, HSM/HTA, and cryptographic libraries.Ability to implement countermeasures against memory vulnerabilities.Proficiency in C and C++ for low‑level software development.Familiarity with embedded architectures and operating systems.Experience with embedded security testing techniques (fuzzing, reverse engineering, penetration testing).Knowledge of UNIX‑based operating systems.Solid command of the Microsoft Office Suite.PreferredKnowledge of scripting languages such as Tcl or Python.Soft SkillsStrong problem‑solving and analytical skills.Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Quality‑ and security‑oriented mindset.Seniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustriesComputer and Network Security#J-18808-Ljbffr
