TECHNICAL MANAGER | HEAD OF COMPLIANCE AND INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS | AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR Techyon is a leading headhunter specialized in the recruitment and selection of senior professionals in the IT and automotive sectors. We are looking for a Technical Manager to oversee compliance, inspection, and certification services in the automotive industry. Core Responsibilities Serve as the central technical authority and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17021-1, and relevant sector‑specific regulations. Maintain and oversee the implementation of all technical procedures, methodologies, and instructions. Interpret and apply EU and national transport legislation to inspection and certification processes and manage responses to technical queries from clients, auditors, and the Ministry of Transport. Work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure the effectiveness of the integrated management system. Lead root cause analysis for non‑conformities, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement. Prepare for and participate in assessments by the national accreditation body and other regulatory authorities. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to inspectors, auditors, and technical staff. Authorize personnel for inspection and certification tasks based on demonstrated competence. Review and approve reports and certification decisions issued by the technical team. Oversee calibration and maintenance of specialized technical equipment, evaluate technical risks, and implement mitigation strategies, staying abreast of changes in standards, regulations, and technologies. Job Requirements Must Have A master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or related field) – a bachelor’s degree with significant additional experience may be considered. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a technical role within transport, automotive, aerospace, or a related regulated industry. Proven leadership experience (5+ years) within an accredited conformity assessment body (inspection, certification, testing). In‑depth, practical knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 and/or ISO/IEC 17021‑1. Strong understanding of EU transport regulations and type‑approval processes. Excellent command of English (written and spoken); proficiency in Italian required. Nice to Have Formal training and qualifications as a Lead Auditor or Lead Inspector. Direct experience interacting with national accreditation bodies and/or ministries of transport. Experience in a designated technical service (DTS) for EU vehicle type‑approval. Project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP). Other Info Location: Milano.
