Maintenance Technician

Job ID: | Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd Amazon is seeking a night shift Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Fulfilment Centre (FC) in Dandenong South. Please note the shift pattern is based on business need, and rotates every 6 months from Wednesday to Saturday | Sunday to Wednesday (10 hour shifts, 4 days per week). Learn more about Amazon RME in Australia. Key job responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site. Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out. React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams and work efficiently to fix the issue. Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager. Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers. Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians. A day in the life Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You’ll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites’ equipment to make sure it’s working safely. As an RME Technician, you’ll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You’ll also make suggestions for long-term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll undertake day‑to‑day maintenance tasks general building maintenance. About the team Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of Fulfilment Centres, Sortation Centres and Delivery Stations. Basic Qualifications Formal Trade Qualification: Served a full Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualified to a minimum of Certificate III. Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner) or Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license. Alternatively, equivalent trade qualification formally recognised in Australia. Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems. Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems. Ability to read and understand electrical / mechanical drawings. Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters. Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
