We were meant to fly.The Customer Quality Engineer is the main Avio Aero Product Quality point of contact for an external Customer cluster; is responsible to drive the flowdown of Customer's requirements through the Avio Aero organization, leveraging knowledge and understanding of the Customers contracts and requirements and comprehensive understanding of what drives impact for the Customers. In this role you will also operate as operational support to make sure Customer's quality requirements are flowed down and understood within the CoEs.Job DescriptionEssential responsibilitiesReview applicable Customer Quality requirements during the preliminary offer to Customer and ensure proper flow-down within all Avio Aero sitesJoin WOR/MOR program meeting, lead Program Quality KPIs to control industrialization of the program and escalate issuesCollect PPAP deliverables as applicableProvide Quality Deliverables during the Phase/Gate NPI approach, attend to program GateParticipate in the design phase, review and approve preliminary drawing according to the CPD processPlan and lead approval of VT/SPS and QNs pending on the program in agreement with the internal and external teamAnalyze quality data to identify needs and opportunities for quality improvement and lead the implementation of improvement plansTogether with Design and Manufacturing, establish a Manufacturing Process that meets design requirements at the start of production, with focus on producibility and design change. You will escalate producibility issues to define proper manufacturing or design corrective actionInterface with Customer, partner companies and company function in a proactive and timely manner to define and manage Program Quality risksCustomer's main point of contact for Quality escapesRobust Root Cause & Corrective Actions (RCCA) deploymentSupport Customer Visits/Meetings and periodical visit at Customer's facility if neededKnowledge and application of the Return to Vendor (RTV) processCommunicate across the function in area of expertiseQualification/RequirementsMaster's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace are preferred) from an accredited university or collegePrevious experience in similar role, preferred in Aeronautical manufacturing companyBackground in Quality and/or Engineering and/or Program Management and/or manufacturingAbility to lead complex problems, escalations and problem solvingAvailability to travel internationally to meet customers/shops as neededProficiency in Italian and English, both written and oralWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsKnowledge of GE quality system, including policies and proceduresknowledge of Aerospace Quality StandardsGE IT quality tools (Score Applications) knowledgeKnow-how in APQP/AS13100 and LEAN principles and methodsKnowledge of problem solving / improvement tools (e.g. Six Sigma, FLIGHT DECK, etc.)Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to communicate clearly and well with external Customers and internally in the OrganizationStrong influencing skills in a global environmentEffective problem identification and solution skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlinesA previous experience in a Customer facing role is preferredA previous experience in Operations or Engineering is preferredWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes smart work in hybrid mode, and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
